Sexual Assault Response Program

The Sexual Assault Response Program provides free coordinated services for survivors of sexual assault who are 13 years and older, inclusive of all genders and available to all residents of North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Bowen Island and Lions Bay.

What is Sexual Assault

Sexual assault is any sexual contact that you did not agree to. Sexual assault can include any form of sexual contact (unwanted touching, forced kissing, forced sex). It may have happened to you in the past, or it may have happened recently. In Canada, sexual assault is a crime.

Sexual assault can happen to anyone, of any background, at any age. What happened to you was not your fault. Sexual assault is a traumatic experience. You may be in a state of shock, you may feel guilty, anxious, numb, angry, embarrassed or ashamed. All of your reactions and feelings are normal. You are not alone. Help is available.

How We Can Help

Our support workers and counsellors are available for you to talk about what has happened. We respect your privacy and autonomy to decide how we can best support you.

We can go with you to the hospital, be there for you in court, advocate for you, provide counselling options, and let you know what additional support could be available for you.
